Amazon Taking Residence at Alliance Airport
In a move that’s expected to create hundreds of jobs plus bolstering its shipping business, Amazon is building a regional air hub at Fort Worth Alliance Airport. While specific details about the new Amazon facility are not available yet, it’s an exciting development for Alliance Airport.
After 30 years of operations, Amazon’s arrival will begin a new phase of growth for the industrial and cargo focused airport.
The benefit for freight shippers at Alliance is all the major airport amenities minus the hassle of working alongside passenger of aircraft. The brand new Alliance facility is Amazon’s latest step towards its own air shipping network. In addition to using current services such as FedEx, UPS, and the US Postal Service, the Seattle based retail giant has acquired a fleet that’s expected to reach 40 aircraft by the end of 2018.
Although North Texas missed out on Amazon’s HQ2, the new regional hub will bring in hundreds of job opportunities to our area. Plus with Amazon’s continued interest in the area, it may entice other businesses to relocate to the region as well.
