Hillwood Communities, one of the region’s biggest community developers, is launching a huge new project in Denton County. The development of the 3,200-acre Hunter Ranch on 35W Interstate Highway will kick off later this year with the construction of more than 6,000 homes.  

According to Dallas Morning News, the community along I-35 will have about 4 million square feet of commercial construction and 1 million square feet of retail in addition to the 6,000 home sites. This is definitely good news as there is a surge in demand for housing in North Texas because thousands of people are relocating from out of state.  

This is the latest major project built by Hillwood communities in the north area of Fort Worth. They are also responsible for the construction of 40,000 homes, a third of which has been along I-35 for the past 30 years. 

Hillwood is currently looking at other potential development sites around Dallas-Fort Worth, including Grayson Country.
