Entrada Brings a Touch of Spanish Charm to Westlake’s New Mixed Use Development
At the Southeast corner of FM 1938 (Davis Rd.) and Texas 114 in West lake, construction is underway for Westlake’s Entrada development. This neighborhood will be a new 85-acre, mixed-use, European-style village. The first phase of the $500 million walk-able village is expected to open in July of 2016. Water and sewer lines are being installed and soon streets will be laid, West lake City Manager Tom Brymer said. Its only a matter of time before this beautiful village comes to life.
From tile roofs to pave stone streets, visitors and residents will feel they are in the Catalonia region of Spain. The development will feature 300 residential units, including 200 single-family villas. Furthermore, there will be 70 to 80 town homes and 40 to 50 condominiums. Homes will range in price from $1 to 2 million.
Businesses have also been confirmed. A 135-room Hyatt Place Hotel, and a Primrose School will be built nearby. Also, a Starbucks and a CVS Pharmacy are planned to go in the area. Several luxury retailers are anticipated for setting up shop in Entrada. Medical offices, entertainment and restaurants are also planned. The Hyatt will have a 15,000-square-foot conference room for special events. All of the commercial buildings will have small setbacks to carry-over the European-inspired design.
The community of Entrada will be centered around a lake. It feels as though you’re at a Spanish coastline complete with a European-style bridge. Entrada will also include an outdoor amphitheater and trails that connect to the rest of Westlake.
“It’s going to have some density to it while at the same time have a lot of open space,” Brymer said.
Entrada is expected to have high demand for homes because of it’s proximity to DFW airport.
