Fun Ways to Celebrate Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is a great way to show some love to those you care about. Whether it’s a best friend, spouse or your kids, it can be a fun day to show those you care about how much you appreciate them.  Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be all about the gifts, or the chocolate, all you need is a little imagination.  But if you feel like you are still suffering from the New Year’s fog, don’t worry, we got your back. Here are cupid-inspired gestures to celebrate the day of love.

Movie Marathon

Alright, this one is great no matter who you are spending the day with. Even if you find yourself alone on Valentine’s Day. It’s a great excuse to binge watch all those “guilty pleasure” romcoms!  Or sappy dog movies.  Or whatever else brings a smile to your face and the ones you are watching with.

Tea or Hot Chocolate Party

Hanging with the littles? Plan a cute tea or hot chocolate party! Hit up the dollar store and find all things Valentine’s.  Add some cute heart shaped snacks, and you have a daytime date that everyone will love.

Cook Dinner Together

Life gets hectic, and sometimes a night in is just what you and your partner need. And hey, we know that stars aren’t always aligned so if your perfect night in doesn’t fall on Valentine’s Day, that’s okay. Just pick a day and plan to cook your favorite dinner together. Play some music, enjoy a bottle of wine and take in each other’s company.

Write an Appreciation Letter

While we no doubt appreciate those around us, it may not always be said out loud. Write (not type) a letter to those you care about and let them know how much you love and appreciate them. This is also a fun activity to involve the kiddos too. It will warm your heart and make the recipient feel good as well.

Take a Class Together

There are so many great classes out there that you can take with your partner or a bestie. From cooking to painting to making macarons, you can find a class for just about anything. And many of them encourage you to bring a bottle of wine. It’s also a great way to reconnect with that someone special in your life.

Make a Heartfelt Breakfast

What better way to show your love than with heart-shaped pancakes! Perfect for your kiddos, spouse or roommate, it’s a sweet way to start the day.  And you get to show off your culinary skills.

Tiny Tokens

While Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be all about the gifts, it is a great time to find the perfect thing that you know your partner would love. An engraved piece of jewelry or the gorgeous artwork they have their eye on is a lovely way to celebrate those you love. Or maybe they love fuzzy socks, and you saw the perfect pair. Big or small, it’s nice to give those you love a little token of your affection.
