ICE! at Gaylord Texan Resort

Gaylord Texan Resort becomes home to a dazzling wonderland of lights and Christmas ornaments from November 13 through 3 January 2015. Enjoy breathtaking ICE!, a walk-through, multicolored ice sculpture exhibit featuring Frosty the Snowman and friends. The sculptures are hand-carved by ice-carvers from Harbin, China and the exhibit features a live, ice-carving zone where you can watch an expert ice-carver create a sculptured masterpiece in front of your eyes. Other Christmas attractions at Gaylord include a 54-foot revolving Christmas tree and Santa’s Wild Workshop snow-tubing venue.

Parade of Lights

The annual Parade of Lights, North Texas’s biggest lighted Christmas Parade, will make its way down Historic Main Street on the 4th of December. The parade features 100 floats, all lit up with twinkling lights, together with marching bands. The event begins at 7pm.

Watch a flotilla of brightly lit boats sail along the shores of Lake Grapevine on December 6th, from 6pm to 9pm. The Twinkle Light Boat Parade starts at Marina Cove and is joined at Scotts Landing and Silver Lake by more entrants. This light show is also visible from the shores of the lake, with one of the best vantage points being from the Cactus Nightclub at Gaylord Texan Resort. All light-themed events in Grapevine are also free of charge.

North Pole Express

Next, Grapevine Vintage Railroad’s North Pole Express® offers a fun-filled family event. Starting at the Historic Cotton Belt Depot platform, passengers embark for the North Pole on decorated Victorian Rail coaches. Elves sing Christmas carols and, just before you reach the North Pole, Mrs Claus makes a special appearance and gives each child a “We Believe” silver Santa Bell. On disembarking, passengers make their way through a snowy Christmas tree trail. Santa makes an appearance at the North Pole and shares his Frosty Chocolate Snow Milk in memory mugs that each boy and girl can take home. Families will also receive a complimentary gift voucher for a photo with Santa. This event also takes place every weekend between the 28th of November and the 23rd of December.

Nash Farm

On December 6th, Nash Farm showcases a Victorian Christmas-themed guided tour of the farm house and farm, which allows visitors to experience Christmas as it was celebrated by the original settlers in Grapevine, during the latter half of the 19th century. Hot cider and cookies can also be enjoyed at the pole barn. Guests will also be offered the opportunity to make handmade Christmas ornaments. Admission is free and the event runs from 3pm to 6pm.
