After initial denial by the planning and zoning commission, Colleyville City Council has approved a proposed senior living complex for the city.

Sagora Senior Living, based in Forth Worth, will officially take over an 18-acre undeveloped property that was approved for development in 2012, but never came to fruition. The 55+ complex will include 19 cottages, 12 independent living units, 65 assisted living units, 20 memory care, and an amenity space with a commercial kitchen, dining room, bistro, theater, fitness center, salon, library, and three private courtyards.

Bryan McCaleb, president of Sagora Senior Living, said he saw a need for a community like this in Colleyville.

“There’s no place to move in Colleyville unless you need memory care,” he said. “You’re going to love and take care of your loved ones the best when you’re the closest to them.”
