Historic Old Town Keller is the city’s main shopping district. Here, shoppers can find antiques, modern trends, arts and crafts stores, specialty boutiques, coffee shops, hair salons, collectibles, and restaurants. Stein Mart, Big Lots, Kohl’s, CVS, Auto Zone, GNC, Home Depot, and other well-known stores are located throughout the town. Baja Cantina is well known for its delicious $3 tacos and strong margaritas. Great, authentic Thai food is available at Sea Siam. More dining options are available in nearby Southlake, including Truluck’s Ocean’s Finest Seafood and Crab and Mi Cocina.

Parks and Recreation

Keller real estate is known throughout the region for its 426 acres of immaculate parkland. The Keller Sports Park features seven lighted baseball fields; two lighted football fields; four lighted fast-pitch softball fields; five regulation soccer fields; two youth soccer fields; two playgrounds; two sand volleyball courts; a one mile, hike-and-bike trail; equestrian trails; an indoor soccer complex and practice fields; a wildflower meadow; and fishing pier and pond.

The 5.4-mile-long Big Bear Creek Hike and Bike Trail bisects Keller along the Big Bear Creek corridor and winds through several of the city’s parks. Golf enthusiasts enjoy the lush greens and tranquil setting of Sky Creek Ranch Golf Club. The 18-hole course is open to the public every day except Thanksgiving and Christmas. Tornado Terry’s Family Amusement Center offers indoor fun for the whole family – no tokens required! Additional indoor fun is available at The Keller Pointe, the city’s recreation center. The 87,940 sq. ft., multi-purpose facility features an indoor track, strength training and cardio equipment, a multi-purpose gymnasium, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and group exercise classes.

Living

A rapidly growing city, Keller is consistently ranked one of the nation’s top towns and was named a “Best City” by Money magazine in 2007, 2009, and 2011. At approximately 46,000 people, Keller’s population has experienced a 52 percent growth rate over the past two decades. Job growth is also strong, with an increase of nearly 60% from 2000 to 2008. Median home price for Keller real estate is $439,045.

Community events are a big part of what makes Keller great. Rated “Best Festival” by Keller residents three years in a row, KellerFest features live music, arts and crafts, carnival rides, a petting zoo, games, food, wine and cheese tastings, hot air balloon rides, and vendor booths staffed by local businesses. The three-day event takes place each May.

Schools, Health, Transportation

The highly rated Keller Independent School District is one of the fastest growing school districts in the state. It runs two National Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence and 26 TEA Exemplary and Recognized schools in the city. Adult students have their pick of several quality universities within easy driving distance of Keller, including Tarrant County College District, Texas Wesleyan University, and Dallas College North Lake Campus. The University of Texas at Arlington is just 16 miles away.

There are three acute care hospitals within six miles of Keller: North Hills Hospital in North Richland Hills, Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Southlake, and Southwest Surgical Hospital in Hurst. Kid Care Pediatrics provides quality medical care to Keller’s children from two offices in town. The clinic also operates an afterhours, urgent care, and nurse telephone triage. Pediatric emergencies are referred to the Cook Children’s Health Care System in Fort Worth.

The city of Keller is about 30 minutes from the Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport. Amtrak is also a quick 14 miles away from Fort Worth.
