The new North Richland Hills recreation center comprises of 86,000 square feet and features a state-of-the-art fitness center, a suspended walking/running track, a double gymnasium, a senior center, a kids club, and an indoor aquatics center with three lap lanes, a rock climbing wall, a loop slide, and a whirlpool. North Richland Hills also is home to NRH2O, Dallas-Fort Worth’s family water park, featuring body slides, tube slides, multi-rider slides, pools, water playgrounds, a lazy river, and the world’s largest uphill water-coaster. The 18-hole Iron Horse Golf Course, also in North Richland Hills, is a highly rated, award-winning public golf course. Schools, Health, and Transportation.

The Birdville Independent School District operates 16 elementary schools, seven middle schools, and five high schools in North Richland Hills. Students also can attend one of several private schools in the area, including North Park Christian Academy, Fort Worth Christian School, St. John the Apostle Catholic School, and North Richland Hills Montessori. Adult students can earn associates degrees in over 70 disciplines at the nearby Tarrant County College.

The 164-bed Medical City North Hills provides emergency, acute, diagnostic, and surgical care to thousands of Tarrant County residents each year. The hospital is both a certified primary stroke center and an accredited heart failure center. Medical City North Hills houses a bariatric center, a spinal surgery center, a senior health clinic, and a women’s center.

Residents of North Richland Hills can hop on one of the region’s many bus routes or the Trinity Railway Service (TRE) in nearby Richland Hills to commute between Dallas and Fort Worth. The DFW International Airport, located just 15 miles from North Richland Hills, offers non-stop service to an abundance of domestic and international destinations each day. Three shuttle routes connect the TRE rail service to the airport.
