Parks and Recreation
Roanoke is home to nine public parks complete with walking trails and two dog parks, all of which offer ample opportunity for enjoying the outdoors. Roanoke Community Park features baseball and softball fields, a fishing pier and pond, playground equipment, and picnic areas. FairPlay Park features sports fields, playground equipment, swings, and a community pool with water slides. The large open fields at Cannon Parkway Park and Parks of Roanoke are perfect for kite flying and soccer games. In addition to the field, the Parks of Roanoke is home to a basketball court, a lighted walking trail, a children’s playground, and a splash pad. Additional playgrounds and basketball courts can be found at Country Acres Park. The Roanoke Recreation Center features a gymnasium, weight room, game room, racquetball court, and children’s center. Group classes, swim lessons, sports leagues, and summer camps also are available.
The city of Roanoke is very family oriented, offering seasonal events for the whole family all year long including: Family Valentine’s Dance, The Annual Bunny Hop and Hunt, The 3rd of July, Fishing in the Park, and Roanoke Old-Fashioned Christmas celebration. For a little more excitement, residents can head over to the Alliance Skatepark in nearby Grand Prairie or the Texas Motor Speedway located just four miles east of town.

Home to approximately 10,000 people, Roanoke offers a friendly small-town environment in the midst of a bustling metropolitan area. The city is centered on families with 80 percent of the population of Roanoke living in family households. Additional hospitals and medical centers are located throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Built just east of I-35W around Highway 114 and U.S. Route 377, Roanoke real estate offers easy access to Denton, Fort Worth, and Dallas.
