Eco-Friendly Ways to Save Money at Home
Eco-Friendly Ways to Save Money at Home
There are many eco-friendly ways to save money at home. Minteer Real Estate Team has listed some of our preferred ways below.
HEAT & COOL EFFICIENTLY
Use a programmable thermostat. In the summer, raise the thermostat two degrees. In the winter, lower it two degrees. Change the air filter regularly.
SWITCH TO ENGERY EFFICIENT LIGHTING
Use compact flourescent lightbulbs. They use 75% less energy than standard bulbs and last up to 10 times longer!
SEAL & INSULATE
Sealing air leaks and adding insulation are do-it-yourself projects that save you money. Note: the biggest air leaks are usually found in the attic.
USE WATER EFFICIENTLY
Water the lawn only when needed and water during the coolest part of the day. Turn the water off while shaving or brushing your teeth. Fix leaky faucets or toilets – those leaks can waste 200 gallons of water a day!
