Food Review: Loveria Caffe

Tucked in Colleyville’s bustling Town Center, is the modern and chic new Italian restaurant, Loveria Caffe, with the aptly named Taste of Italy. The owners and chef hail from the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy.  The atmosphere and food is authentic Italian with recipes coming from the chef’s own grandmothers.

Chef Michele Ragazzini makes all the food from scratch. He is inpired by  comfort food from his childhood. The lasagna is rich with a crispy edge, and the garganelli al pesto is a delicious firm pasta with a flavorful pesto.  The restaurant’s meatballs are made from beef sirloin and tenderloin. Furthermore, they offer a nice wine list; All their wines hail from Italy.

Chef Ragazzini studied at the University of Bologna. He grew up surrounded by food and cooking. His grandmother was a chef and is one of his earliest mentors. Before coming to Loveria, Chef Ragazzini was a personal chef and created many award-winning special events.

Owners Andrea Matteuci and Stefania Bertozzi came to Colleyville from Ravenna in the Emilia Romagna region. Originally, they were architects. They brought their love of food with them to Texas and named their new endeavor, Loveria, which comes from the Emilia Romagna dialect. It translates as “something so delicious that you can’t resist.”

Loveria is not only a restaurant but also offers a café, a wine bar, and a lounge area with art, fashion, Italian books and newspapers.

Patrons can easily sit down and enjoy a nice espresso which compliments their in-house made pastries nicely. There is also an emporium bookshop where those who want to take a taste of Italy with them can purchase coffee, olive oil, pasta and art books home with them.

Loveria is an excellent addition to the Colleyville food landscape and a must visit for those looking for an gastronomic experience in a chic setting.
