This association sponsors special events from time to time, including an annual “breakfast with Santa.”

Shopping and Dining

Although there are no shops or restaurants inside this community, there are quite a few just outside its gates. Grapevine Mills Mall offers some big name retailers such as Books A Million, Justice and Brothers, and Lane Bryant. Southlake Town Square is a short drive away, and features outdoor shopping from retailers such as Bath and Body Works and Barnes and Noble. When it comes to restaurants, you can choose everything from Mexican fare at Cantina Laredo to baked goods and breakfast items at Main Street Baking Company.

Parks and Recreation

The Grapevine Parks and Recreation Department manages a number of nearby parks, including Bear Run Park. The highlight of this park is its disc golf course, which contains obstacles such as a pond and bridges. There’s also a walking area, picnic grounds, and several athletic fields. Camping, boating, and fishing opportunities abound at Lake Grapevine.

Living

Although the homes in Glade Crossing were built in the 1990’s, they are nonetheless modern and up to date. Most houses are brick structures with attached two-car garages and well manicured front lawns. Some of the amenities these homes have include in-ground swimming pools, ceramic tile, granite countertops, and sunken bathtubs. Within the community itself, there is a nice children’s playground where families can spend time together enjoying the great outdoors.

Schools, Health and Transportation

The Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District manages the school system for residents of Glade Crossing, including the nearby Grapevine Elementary school. Parents could also elect to send their children to one of the many outstanding private schools including Grapevine Faith Christian School, Hill School of Grapevine, or Holy Trinity Catholic School. Adults can study at Career Academy or travel to nearby Irving to attend Anthem College .

Several medical practitioners have offices near Glade Crossing. This includes specialists in family practice, internal medicine, pain management, and gynecology. Care Now provides urgent care for patients, while Baylor Regional Medical Center cares for those who need more personalized attention.

Getting around Grapevine and into the Dallas-Fort Worth area is easy, thanks to the Tex Commuter Rail, also known as “the T.” This rail system runs from Fort Worth into Grapevine, and then back into the Dallas Fort Worth Airport. The American Red Cross provides door-to-door transportation to those age 55 or older or disabled residents, and the Grapevine Visitor’s Center also operates a shuttle to help people get around the city.
