List of the Best Places to Take Family Photos Around Town

Family Photo Ted R. Ware Plaza, Grapevine

We are slowly warming up around here in North Texas, and while we aren’t quite hitting those warm spring temps, if you look around signs of warmer weather are everywhere. The grass is starting to sprout greener and trees are beginning to bloom, making it a fantastic time to update your family photos.

Our little neck of the woods is brimming with the perfect Instaworthy shots,  whether you love nature or prefer a rustic vibe, DFW has a backdrop everyone will enjoy.  We’ve put together a list of some the best places to take family photos around town.  Many are located near great restaurants and other family fun activities, so why not make a day of it especially since everyone will be dressed already.

Grapevine Picture Spots

The possibilities are endless for a great family photo session in Grapevine. The Grapevine Botanical Garden provide a gorgeous natural backdrop year round. Downtown Main Street offers up great old architecture and exposed bricks. Plus, the historical B&D Mills is gorgeous in the background with the setting sun.  And of course, Lake Grapevine adds a splash to every portrait session.

Southlake Picture Spots

Southlake Town Square is a great spot for a blogger style family session, with the all the cool shops, fountains and gazebo your friends and family will definitely double tap your newest pics. If you are looking for golden sunsets with beautiful fields, you will want to head over to Bob Jones Nature Center.

Keller Picture Spots

You could spend the whole day exploring all the pretty places Bear Creek Park provides for your family portraits. Old bridges, trails, greenbelts, and gorgeous greenery are perfect for any nature lover.

Roanoke Picture Spots

Downtown Roanoke adds a charming, nostalgic feel to photos. Bright colors,  rusted metal, and great brick buildings line the street giving you a wide array of options in a small area. Which is great if you have little ones who are on a time limit. The only warning we give is don’t go hungry! The delicious aroma of fried chicken coming from Babes will have your tummy growling the whole time!

Fort Worth Picture Spots

Who already doesn’t love Fort Worth? With so many excellent locations, it’s every shutterbug’s dream, so there is no doubt your photographer already has a favorite spot.  Here are just a few of the most popular places for the best pictures around. Magnolia Street, West 7th and the Fort Worth Art murals offer a popular lifestyle type of background. Downtown Fort Worth is great if you love the look of buildings in your photos and parking is super easy.  If nature is your thing, Trinity Park or the Fort Worth, Botanical Garden have endless opportunities. And if you are looking to represent all things Texas, then head over to the Fort Worth Stockyards.

Dallas Arboretum

We had to mention the Dallas Arboretum because they do such a great job this time of year with Dallas Blooms. Plus, after your photos, it’s a great place to spend time with the family. The children’s garden is amazing!
