New Guidelines Released for 2020-21 School Year
With classes soon to resume for the 2020-21 school year, many districts have been in talks about what the year will look like. The Texas Education Agency has released guidelines that schools will have to follow, including:
- On-campus and virtual learning – Schools must offer daily on-campus attendance for students unless a campus is closed. Parents can ask that students be taught virtually if they so choose.
- Social distancing – Students are encouraged to social distance, and desks should be spaced 6 feet apart when space allows.
- Screenings – Teachers and staff members will be required to “self-screen” for COVID-19 each day. Campus visitors will also be screened for COVID-19.
