The Glades is nestled in between Highways 121 and 360, with the southern boundary of Glade Road. A set of neighborhoods called Glade Crossing, Glade Lane, Glade Hill, Glade Meadows, Glade Landing, Glade Woods and Glade Tree make up this area of Grapevine. This highly involved community is also comprised of 888 homes. Furthermore, it is a family friendly neighborhood. The median age is 49, according to the 2010 US Census Data.

Each year the active Glade Crossing Neighborhood Association plans festive events for the neighbors to enjoy including:

  • 4th of July Parade
  • Breakfast with Santa

Schools

Residents of Glade Crossing and Shadow Glen with children will love being zoned to some of Grapevine-Colleyville ISD’s best schools.

Located within the community itself, Grapevine Elementary School (K-5) boasts a school size of 509 students and has consistently been ranked as one of the top elementary schools in the district. Special programs such as music, choir, art, p.e., and Spanish are also offered.

Heritage Middle School is approximately 2 miles from Glades Crossing and Shadow Glen. The 6-8 grade school has 926 students. Heritage Middle School offers advanced academics and the 1:1 initiative. The 1:1 initiative pairs every student with their own technology device. Furthermore, the school offers dance, band, choir, various sports teams, FFA, math and science team, theater, student government, and more.

Colleyville Heritage High School has been recognized as one of the top 100 high schools in the US by the Newsweek magazine’s Challenge Index for the 18th time. Furthermore, it has the distinct privilege of being a Gold level school in 2015 in US News and World Report’s Best High Schools in the country. CHHS prides itself on being a Community of Excellence. The high school is recognized as a Blue Ribbon School. This competitive 6A high school brings sports, academics, technology and more extracurriculars to it’s 2,217 diverse students.

Parks

Residents in Glade Crossing will love how close area parks are to their home.

Glade Crossing Park is located at the cross streets of Westbury and Hughes. The park has a large play structure, picnic tables and benches all surrounded by a wrought iron fence. The entire park is also handicap accessible.

Glade Crossing is equipped with a play structure, picnic tables, a walking trail and a large open area great for soccer as well as other games. Futhermore, Glade Landing Park is centrally located. Many of the neighborhood association events take place at this park. The entire park is also handicap accessible.

Located slightly north of the neighborhood is Bear Creek Park. This large community park is set along the woods and has something for everyone. Bear Creek is known for it’s 8’ wide 1-mile concrete trail that meanders to all amenities. Furthermore, Bear Creek Park is named after the creek that flows through it. Park visitors will enjoy a disc golf course, athletic fields, play areas, and exercise stations. There are also benches, picnic areas, and a 40-person pavilion. Visitors will also encounter numerous interpretive signs on the trail.

Hospitals

Luckily, Glade Crossing is conveniently located in between two major hospitals.

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Grapevine has 314 beds. It is a not-for-profit hospital that serves 20 surrounding cities. They also offer advanced medical services for cardiovascular services. Furthermore, women’s services, diagnostic imaging, neonatal intensive care, sleep disorders, intensive and emergency care.

Texas Health Harris Methodist Hurst-Euless-Bedford is the only Level III trauma center in Tarrant County. It has also earned a Cycle IV Chest Pain Accreditation and is a certified Primary Stroke Center.

Restaurants/Shopping/Entertainment

Glade Crossing and Shadow Glen are located minutes from grocery stores, shopping, restaurants, movie theaters, and more. Both neighborhoods have easy access to both Highways 121 as well as 360. It’s easy for residents to get to downtown Grapevine, Fort Worth, Arlington, and also Dallas.

Community Pool

Located within the community itself, residents have easy access to Pleasant Glade Pool. The pool offers low season and daily pass rates, so you can easily cool off with a dip in the pool.
