Once a month, the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce holds an Economic Development Partnership Meeting with the City of Grapevine. This is a great meeting to learn all about the economic development happenings in Grapevine. Here are some of the latest updates from the Feb. 21, 2017 meeting. Take a look and welcome these latest businesses to the area!

Economic Development

Permits Issued
3535 Bluffs Lane – Bluffs Apartments:

Firstly, building permits were approved Dec. 13, 2016 for a new apartment complex. Bluffs Apartments will be 667,461 sqft. It will include 19 buildings, 450 units, leasing office and clubhouse. They will also be building 11 carport structures totaling 18,000 sqft as well as 98 parking spaces. Construction value $44,142,899.

2500 S. Oak Grove Loop – Scott’s Landing Marina:

Secondly, two building permits were approved on Dec. 30, 2016 for construction of a 17,028 sqft new covered boat slip with 32 spaces as well as a 13,000 sqft new covered boat slip with 15 spaces for the existing Scott’s Landing Marina. Construction value $608,708.

3000 Grapevine Mills Pkwy. #519 – Legoland Discovery Center:

 A building permit was approved on Jan. 5, 2017 for an interior remodel of their playland that will increase the current space. Construction value $42,000.

2400 State 114 Highway – Perry’s Steakhouse:

A building permit was approved on Jan. 11, 2017 for construction of a new 11,697 sqft restaurant shell building. This will be in the empty space in front of Golf Galaxy. Construction value $2,050,000

711 S. Main Street – Heritage Center Depot:

A demolition permit was approved for a new train station on Jan. 17, 2017.  Future construction is planned for a new 8,000 sqft railway platform as well as railway track. Construction value $4,698,431.

1280 Texan Trail – Park Place Grapevine Porsche:

A building permit was approved on Jan. 17, 2017 for construction of a new 61,412 sqft new and used automotive dealership and service center building. Construction value $22,000,000.

3000 Grapevine Mills Pkwy. #604 – The Escape Game:

A building permit was approved for an interior remodel of a 3,500 sqft maze and retail space for a new tenant. Construction value is $300,000.

3223 Mustang Drive – Grapevine High School: Construction of a new 69,324 sqft multi-purpose activity center. Construction value $15,000,000.

5401 Heritage Avenue – Colleyville Heritage High School: Construction of a new 69,324 sqft multi-purpose activity center. Construction value $13,000,000.

1101 Ira E. Woods Avenue – Target: Interior remodel of a 99,383 sqft retail department store for an existing tenant. Construction value $946,149.

3000 Grapevine Mills Pkwy #329 – Fieldhouse USA: Interior remodel of an 18,400 sqft indoor sports complex for an existing tenant. Construction value $6,000. They’ve also begun renting out suites.

2400 W. State 114 Hwy. – Perry’s Steak House & Grille: Tenant finish out of an 11,697 sqft restaurant for a new tenant. Construction value is $1,000,000.

3000 Grapevine Mills Pkwy. #329-60 – NTA Taekwondo & Sports: Interior finish out of a new 8,393 sqft gymnasium for a new tenant. Construction value $42,000.

City Council/Planning and Zoning
Ten50 BBQ:

Firstly, submitted by John T Evans Company for 1333 William D Tate Avenue. The applicant is requesting a conditional use permit to amend the previously approved site plan for a planned commercial center. Specifically to allow the possession and storage, as well as retail sales of on premise consumption of alcoholic beverages in addition to a restaurant. The property is currently zoned HC Highway Commercial and is likewise owned by Grapevine Towers Ltd. APPROVED.

The Oaks of Lonesome Dove:

Submitted by Gazim Idoski for 2321 Lonesome Dove Road. The applicant is requesting to rezone 3.507 acres. The stretch from R-20 to R-12.5 will be a development of 9 single-family residential lots. The property is also owned by Gazim Idoski.

Pending City Council /Planning and Zoning Commission Cases

The Charleston:

Submitted by Billingsley Company for 3155 Stars and Stripes. The applicant is requesting to rezone 10.49 acres from CC Community Commercial to R-MF Multifamily District for the development of a multifamily complex. The applicant is also requesting a conditional use permit to vary from the district standards relative to density, area regulations, height regulations, off-street parking and minimum distance between buildings. A planned development overlay is also being requested to deviate but not limited to building length and building setback relative to parking/vehicle use areas. The property is zoned CC Community Commercial. Likewise the property is owned by Crow Billingsley Airport.

The Preserve:

Submitted by Greystar GP II for 101 East Glade Road. The applicant requested to rezone 20.407 acres from LI Light Industrial and PCD Planned Commerce Development to R-MF Multifamily District for the development of a 399 unit multifamily complex. The applicant is also requesting a conditional use permit to vary from the height regulations. The property is zoned LI Light Industrial as well as PCD Planned Commerce Development. Likewise, the land is owned by KFF Limited Partnership, Gardner 360 WLC Partnership as well as Grapevine Holdings.

San Daniele:

Submitted by Kristopher Colig & Kelly Boynton. 129 South Main Street #130 is platted as Lot 1, Block 1, Hazlewood Commercial Building. The applicant is requesting a conditional use permit to allow a restaurant in the Central Business District. There will also be on premise consumption of alcoholic beverages. The property is zoned CBD Central Business District and is also owned by Chateau Group I Limited.

Mason & Dixon:

Submitted by Beth Newman for 603 South Main Street #302. Land is platted as Lot C, Block 15, City of Grapevine. Furthermore, the applicant is requesting a conditional use permit to allow a restaurant in the Central Business District. The property is also owned by Grape Office LLC.

Administrative Site Plan Applications
Gatehouse Day Care:

Gatehouse is proposed to be platted as Lot 5, Block 1, The Gatehouse in Grapevine. The applicant requests approval for a 21,860 sq ft day care center. The property is zoned CC Community Commercial and is also owned by Project Hand up.
